Hey, I'm Sam
I am a photographer based out of California with a love for all things nature, nostalgia, and people. In all honestly, my style of photography is constantly developing. It has been fun to look at my journey with photography and the shifts in my what, how, and why.
Apart from photography, I am also a wedding & event coordinator and I love climbing, reading, and learning new skills. Otherwise, you can usually find me hosting friends for dinner or spending weekends outside with my husband and daughter.
A Philosophy of Photography
Since first picking up a camera in my early years, I learned to watch the world as an active participant, taking note of simple moments that pass by as quietly as they arrived. This perspective is foundational to my philosophy of photography. In once sense, it's patiently waiting for life to happen around me; in another, it's discovering those fleeting memories that are worth saving.
The heart and soul of photography is rooted in the desire to uncover all that the world has to offer, be it the human spirit or the spirit of nature. Photography provides the pathway to human connection through both a technical understanding of the instrument as well as the ability to see beyond what lies in plain sight, blending together art and science.
Whether collaborating with others or venturing on personal travels, there is always a certain joy I feel about being able to capture and create the beauty in everyday life.
